The hypostasized genre scene alludes to The Arnolfini Portrait, with which it is intended to be related both by title and composition. The onomatopoeic play of the connections, both formal and semantic, between the other paintings of the series, this work, and Jan van Eyck's painting transfers the emphasis from the dramatic register of the Cornucopia to the register of innocence, emphasizing the cathartic meaning of the project.
